It's so lovely to be back in front of my paint and pencils. After a very long break from design I am pleased to be playing with art and patterns again. Pausing from design was sad in many ways for me (and my break was unexpected and much longer than I anticipated)... but I can see the positives of this time being a reset and revaluation that has paved the way for fresh design goals.
At the end of this 'space' I have found new love for design and somewhat have started to focus down on my niche. This has been mostly born our of a desire to create bespoke pattern designs for my own use, which in turn has opened up a whole new world of ideas for me regarding fabric design and interiors.
It's a new season; much needed and I am excited to be back in my lovely little creative nook. It's being able to find the balance of giving to others in your every day job, and then finding that quiet space to create for your own self.
It is a perfect season to open the pencil tin (and I have just treated myself to a set of exquisite artists pencils.. colour pencil work is my happy place and I can't believe it's been several years since I spent proper time with them!).
And, winter is here - I do love the cooler weather. It is time for saying hello to snuggly days and winter fires, cozy socks and hot chocolates ... and stepping outside again to walk in nature ... and most importantly, to start to create and dream again.
