I have spent a wonderous few days creating a new holiday collection to celebrate the joy of Christmas.
I had a very limited palette to work with for this brief, which is equal parts challenging and fabulous for me. I also had only 3 days to create this from scratch so it was a true test of my focus and ability to match colour pencils with colour codes! But do I thrive on a deadline.
my collection Let There Be Joy reflects the spirit of Christmas that resonates most deeply with me—an expression of warmth, hope, and the quiet delight woven through the festive season, with a playful nod to my middle name and brand identity. Featuring the beloved red robin, a timeless symbol of Christmas and renewal, the collection is brought to life primarily through coloured pencil, using carefully matched hues from my extensive Polychromos range, complemented by delicate layers of watercolour and digital refinement. Pine sprigs, thoughtful hand-lettering, and classic motifs such as gingham tie the artworks together, creating a cohesive celebration of the joyful essence at the heart of the season. I created a little video to show the journey.
I am submitting this collection for a special purpose. Fingers crossed for me!
